Finally set in stone, two massive poker competitors will go head to head in a multi-day, multi-table event for the records. Viktor Blom and Daniel Negreanu are booked for a grueling two day heads up match up. In similar form to Viktor’s “Superstar Showdown”, the two day event will pair up the men on an agreed upon field, preset opening blinds and bankroll limit. On March 20 and 27th, two of the most well known names in poker today, will fiercely compete heads up against each other for the world to see.
Both Viktor and Daniel will play with 150 thousand dollars. Playing over four tables, with the same 2500 hand goal as in previous showdowns, some things have been altered to meet the expectations of this match up. The hand goal is per round. On day one the goal of 2500 hands over four No Limit Hold’Em tables will be met and their finishing stacks are carried into round two. Day two will be a repeat of round one. They will compete across the same four tables with the same chip stacks. It’s clear that PokerStars is expecting this to be an incredible event.
In preparation for the event, Negreanu is competing in five and ten dollar blinds at the No Limit Holdem tables. Although he is up against a multi-table learning curve, Daniel is already up and making money at 13 thousand. An impressive start for someone who’s only practicing until he squares off against the young gun, Viktor Blom.
