The 2010 November Nine is nearly upon us. On Saturday, the final nine players of the 2010 WSOP Main Event will return to the Rio in Las Vegas to try and take their place among poker’s immortals. While the chip leaders and Michael Mizrachi are the main focus of many sites, we thought we would take a few moments and give you the rundown on the smaller stacks of the final table.

Matt Jarvis never seriously considered poker a career option until he made the Main Event final. The 26 year-old has been playing seriously for two years, but never considered himself a pro. In addition to this final table, he has taken down two events recently that has given him pause to reconsider his career options. Jarvis enters the final table with 16.7 Million in chips, currently 5th overall. He is also playing for his father Norm who was diagnosed with cancer prior to the start of the World Series of Poker.

Filippo Candio will start the table with 16.4 Million in chips at the beginning of play. He is looking to become the first Italian-born player to win the WSOP Main Event. The former law student has been playing poker tournaments for the last five years and took down the Italian Pro Championship in 2009. He will be in decent shape to start the final table with 31 big blinds and an M at around 13.

Soi Nguyen is the only person at this final table that considers himself an amateur. Nguyen worked for a medical company and actually took his vacation to play in the Main Event. What started as a bucket list trip soon turned into a life changing event as he made the final table and is guaranteed $811,823. Nguyen is the 2nd short stack coming into play so there is a strong chance that he may not see any more than the $811k. He is also the oldest player at the table at the ripe “old” age of 37.

Jason Senti is in the unenviable position of being the short stack to start the final table. He will come back with just 7.625 Million in chips, which is just over 12 big blinds with an M of under 5. He will have to make a move early just to have any chance of competing for the bracelet. Senti is a cash game player and instructor for Blue Fire poker. He does not come into the final table with a strong tournament resume, but his play is strong enough to warrant Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond partially backing him into the Main Event.

Below are how the November Nine stacks up at the start of final table play:

Seat 1. Jason Senti 7,625,000

Seat 2. Joseph Cheong 23,525,000

Seat 3. John Dolan 46,250,000

Seat 4. Jonathan Duhamel 65,975,000

Seat 5. Michael Mizrachi 14,450,000

Seat 6. Matthew Jarvis 16,700,000

Seat 7. John Racener 19,050,000

Seat 8. Filippo Candio 16,400,000

Seat 9. Cuong “Soi” Nguyen 9,650,000

“Shuffle up and deal” is scheduled for Noon PDT on Saturday. Once heads-up is reached, play will be halted until Monday, at which time the final two will play for the bracelet and nearly $9 Million in prize money.
