Twitter Poker League aka #tpoker is a new approach to online poker. This bridges the gap between the online poker game and the social networking format that is Twitter. The PokerStars Twitter Poker League allows players the opportunity to compete for top prizes and stay up to date with the latest related news through Twitter and the #tpoker blog.
Twitter Poker League tournaments are played every Sunday online. This is a low stakes buy in event, 1.10 USD and registration for the weekly event is open.
The #tpoker league competes for some of the top prizes available in online poker. There are bi monthly prizes of more than 2k USD, just for the league. Annually three is a grand prize for 17k USD. There is also entry into some of the biggest events in online poker, such as World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) and Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP). The league also keeps track of rankings and offers tickets, trophies and more prize opportunities (will) become available as the league continues to grow.
As to rankings, the top 9 finishers in every weekly #tpoker tournament earn points. The points range from 20 for the first place winner down to 10 for the ninth place finisher. Last week’s event saw more than a thousand entrants and a top prize of 184.82 USD.
